A boy who was born at 11:11 a.m. on November 11, 2011, turned 11 yesterday.
Daniel Saunders, who was supposed to enter the world six days later, calls the number 10 his lucky charm.
The boy from Bishop’s Stortford, Hertfordshire, also got 11 gifts to celebrate the big day.
‘I’ve been looking forward to this birthday a lot,’ Daniel gushed. ‘It’s more exciting than any other birthday has ever been.’
He also said that the number is a “master number in numerology,” which is a belief system that links numbers to the divine and the supernatural, and that it means good luck and “future potential” for the boy.
Numerology.com says that it is also connected to a “higher source of wisdom” and that it is “intuitive to the point of being psychic.”
‘It’s my lucky number and it’s easy to remember,’ he added. ‘Nobody ever forgets my birthday!’
Since she was in elementary school, his 41-year-old mother Charlotte has also found the number 11 to be lucky. This makes her son’s birthday even more “special.”
Daniel was due on November 17, 2011, but Charlotte found out a week before that he was in an awkward position.
Doctors tried to move him but couldn’t, so on November 11, they scheduled a C-section.
When Charlotte’s family arrived at the hospital at 6 a.m., Daniel’s birth was delayed because he was stuck under her ribs. It took longer than expected for the surgeons to get him out.
‘He’d have been out earlier but he got stuck under my ribs and they took a while maneuvering him out,’ the mother explained. ‘It’s amazing that he was born with all those 11s.’
Charlotte said it makes Remembrance Day “more special” as well.
‘You think back to the war and all those relatives that were lost, so you have an extra moment,’ she revealed.
Daniel still has the poppy that was given to him at Addenbrookes Hospital on the day he was born.
His 42-year-old father, Jason, who runs a company that takes care of lawns and gardens, is excited to celebrate the “very important day.”
‘The doctor said there was no chance he would be born at 11.11 but I think he was clinging on to his mum’s rib cage,’ he joked. ‘A lot of people use their birthday for their PIN number – but he’s pretty stuck on that one!’
Daniel, a right winger, plays football on his birthday and then has a pizza party with his friends and 14-year-old sister Grace.
‘We’ll be hoping for eleven goals at football today,’ Charlotte quipped.
