Brad Pitt let his 105-year-old neighbor live rent-free on his former $39 million Los Angeles house for years, Elvira actor Cassandra Peterson said in a new People interview.
The Oscar winner, 59, who sold his Los Feliz, California, mansion after nearly three decades in March, was the ideal neighbor to his elderly pal after his wife died, allowing him to become a tenant on the land.
Peterson, 71, who became Pitt’s next-door neighbor after selling her home to him in 1994, said Pitt had built up his estate by collecting nearby properties, one of which belonged to a man in his early nineties.
‘He was very kind to the spouse,’ she recalled. His wife died, and his husband, John, lived there. I’m aware that Brad Pitt enabled him to live there for free until he died.
‘It was amusing because John lived to be 105. I’m sure Brad Pitt was thinking, well, he can live there till he dies, which might be any minute now.

Peterson claims that the actor was always ‘warm and nice’ to her during their years as neighbors and that she ‘nearly fainted’ when she saw him nude and hitting a bag in preparation for the 1999 film Fight Club.
‘I remember him saying, “Hey, how are you?” and I was like, “Huh?”‘ she continued. I couldn’t say anything. I was going bright crimson. ‘I felt like I was about to pass out,’ she continues. ‘He’s just so gorgeously, gorgeously handsome — and pleasant to boot.’
After nearly three decades of owning and remodeling his compound last month, Pitt sold it.
According to reports, the actor sold it for $39 million, a far cry from the $1.7 million he paid for it when he purchased it from horror queen Elvira in 1994.
The home was initially advertised for $45 million in January, but it’s unknown what caused the price drop.
Pitt famously shared the house with his ex-wife Angelina Jolie and their six children before their 2016 divorce, but he also lived there alone for a long time.
