Breaking Bad showrunner Vince Gilligan thanked Netflix while accepting his Emmy Award by providing people an opportunity to binge episodes between seasons.
New Breaking Bad Movie Coming To Netflix
And now, Netflix is bringing more Breaking Bad for fans. As reported by THR, Netflix announced that it will premiere the Breaking Bad film before it goes to AMC.
Netflix has got first-run rights to yet to be untitled Breaking Bad film, close sources told THR. This means that Breaking Bad film will debut on Netflix before it comes to AMC. Netflix and AMC haven’t confirmed the news till now, but the move makes a lot of sense. Netflix has had a major impact on Breaking Bad.
Who is going to star in Breaking Bad Movie?
The Breaking Bad film started its shooting in New Mexico last fall, but so far Gilligan has been secretive about spilling any details about the film. All we know is that Aaron Paul will return as Jesse Pinkman.
He will be following his “quest for freedom” after being able to escape the bloodbath of the series finale. There have been rumours that Bryan Cranston will return to play Walter White. Although this seems difficult, we’ll have to wait for the Breaking Bad footages to get the answers.
What showrunner Vince Gilligan Says About Breaking Bad:
As pointed out by Slashfilm, Gilligan tossed around some ideas about what could happen to Jesse post the finale, although it’s unclear if any of them actually turn up in the new script for Breaking Bad film.
“My personal feeling is that he got away,” Gilligan said in an interview back in 2013. “But the most likely thing, as negative as this sounds, is that they’re going to find this kid’s fingerprints all over this lab and they’re going to find him within a day or a week or a month.
And he’s still going to be on the hook for the murder of two federal agents. But yeah, even though that’s the most likely outcome, the way I see it is that he got away and got to Alaska, changed his name, and had a new life. You want that for the kid. He deserves it.”
When is the Breaking Bad Film releasing?
We don’t know when the Breaking Bad sequel film will hit Netflix, but as it’s shooting started last week. We won’t be seeing it anytime sooner than the end of 2019.
The original producers on Breaking Bad: Melissa Bernstein and Mark Johnson will return to work on the project.
If we talk about the plot, for now, all we know is based on the logline published by the Journal. According to the Journal, the film will see “the escape of a man who got kidnapped and his quest for freedom”. Although this doesn’t sound very helpful, that’s all we have for now. It’s unclear if other members from the original cast will return too or when the events of the film take place.
Breaking Bad Movie : Plot
Gilligan may take the Sopranos route and write a prequel Breaking Bad film. But then, no one would like to see a whole movie about Walter White’s struggles. We already have Better Call Saul.
Or Gilligan may pick up the story years later, way after Walter built that robot gun before dying. This would make a little sense, as pointed out by Indie Wire. Currently, Bryan Cranston is doing a Broadway show.
But we don’t think there will be a Breaking Bad Movie without Walt. Fortunately, it won’t be long we get to know more developments on the Breaking Bad film. Until then, you can binge on Better Call Saul.
