The man who has been accused for murdering Antwan Toney, a 30 year old Gwinnett County Police officer has been reported dead on Saturday.
On Monday morning, Police officials reported Tafahree Maynard, the one who was said to have shot officer Antwan, has been located.
Shortly after that, the police officials updated that Maynard has been dead.
A news agency reported that Maynard was taken to police station by her mother on Monday morning in her car. On the way, Maynard jumped out of car and ran away.
At a press meeting on Monday afternoon, Gwinnett County police chief A.A.” Butch” Ayers said that Maynard was found hiding in a shed behind a home where he was shot fatally shot by the officers.
On Saturday, Chief Ayers said that 18 year old Maynard was believed to be the one who is responsible for the murder of Officer Toney.
Chief Ayers said that Maynard was black male of height 3’1’ and weighed 200 pounds.
After exchanging gunfire at about 11.30 pm on Saturday night, 19 year old Isaiah Pretlow, another suspect has been arrested by the U.S. Marshal Service.
After officers reacted to a call of a suspicious vehicle near Shiloh Middle school at around 3 p.m. on Oct. 20 officer Toney was murdered where the occupants were reported to possibly be smoking marijuana.
The Gwinnett County Sergeant Jake Smith told reporters that without drawing their weapon out the two officials had moved towards the car and suddenly through the glass of the vehicle at least one occupant inside of the vehicle fired at them.
Officer Antwan Toney was at the receiving end of the gunfire and as the vehicle took off the other officer dragged Toney.
It is said that the officers returned fire, but it remains uncertain if any suspects were hit. And about a mile the vehicle of the suspect had been crashed and the suspects have reported to have fled on foot.
According to Sergeant Smith in a critical condition officer Toney was transported to the hospital but it did not help him.
