Christie Clark, a brand marketing expert from the UK who goes by @christiecloggs on social media, frequently posts different book-related videos to her 7000 TikTok followers. Christie Clark discovered that many of her fans “didn’t know her age” after someone said in a recent live stream that they believed Christie was 34 years old.
We all like to think we appear younger than we actually are, but when this TikToker asked her fans how old they thought she was, she was in for a rude awakening.
Christie Clark’s Viral Video About Her Age
After a recent live video during which, “someone said, ‘I thought you were the same age as me, I thought you were 34’”. “I then realised, a lot of my followers don’t know how old I am,” Ms Clark added, before asking viewers to guess.
More than 2000 people with ages ranging from late 20s to mid-40s replied in the comments, clearly never having learnt that it rarely ends well when speculating on someone’s age, even if they’re asking you to. With more than 2000 comments answering Christie’s query, the video, which has received more than 227k views generated a lot of interest.
One person said, “You look 25, but your style gives off 38-40.”
Another one said, “Your face is giving 27, your vibe and classy style say mid 30s.”
Someone wrote, “Early 30s but from your style it’s more 50+ & rich.”
“I wanna say like 35,” another wrote.
“The vibe 35-40 from style, but think you are younger, around 25,” someone else said.
“I’d say 28-30, but your hair, makeup, etc. ages you by about 10 years,” one commented.
“40, but like a 40 year old mum in the early 00’s,” a user commented.
Christie Clark’s Reaction On Her Age Video
In a subsequent video, Christie Clark disclosed that she is actually 26. She expressed surprise that many mistakenly believed she was much older and called the situation a “debacle” that caused her to alter her appearance.
“I’m currently making plans to sell my entire wardrobe on Vinted, and just start again from scratch because apparently, my clothes and the way I style myself makes me look a lot older than I am,” she said.
“For context, I did a live session, I can’t remember how long ago now, where someone said, ‘I thought you were the same age as me, I thought you were 34’. And I realised that my followers maybe don’t know how old I am, so I just asked. That video has now got a lot of traffic, a lot of people trying to guess my age. I’m 26, by the way. Lots of people were saying 40. But I don’t really mind – it kind of solidifies what I was trying to figure out anyway. If any of you have advice on how I can start looking a bit more my age, it would be appreciated.”
