Who is Bryan Craig?
Bryan Craig is an American actor. He is most recognized for his portrayal of Morgan Corinthos in the soap opera General Hospital and Joaquin Perez in Good Trouble.
Bryan Allen Craig was born in 1991 to Lissett and Donnie Craig in Boca Raton, Florida. He has a younger brother named Bradley Allen Craig. He made his acting debut at the age of fourteen in the 2005 film Off the Chain and subsequently relocated to Los Angeles to further his acting aspirations.
Career
Following his relocation to Los Angeles, Bryan Craig landed the role of Justin in the 2011 movie Christmas Spirit. He also made an appearance on The Nine Lives of Chloe King in the same year and had a recurring part on Bucket & Skinner’s Epic Adventures from 2011 until 2012.
ABC officially announced on April 17, 2013, that Craig was chosen for the role of Morgan Corinthos on General Hospital. He started filming his initial scenes on April 15.
In an interview with Soap Opera Digest, Craig revealed his initial reluctance to take on a soap opera role, but ultimately, the character of Morgan convinced him to change his mind about working in daytime television.
His parents were the ones who persuaded him to agree to a three-year agreement. According to TV Source’s Angela Durrell, Morgan is portrayed as “sensitive and wounded.”
Morgan has a strong desire for “close connections” and a stable life. Craig’s portrayal of Morgan, as described by Mara Levinsky, is that of an “impulsive” and “flawed” character.
According to Michael Logan, Bryan Craig’s Morgan is a delightful mix of puppy clumsiness and irritable masculinity.
When questioned about his character’s simple and relaxed clothing choices, despite coming from a wealthy family, Craig explained that Morgan prioritizes making money quickly and is not pretentious. He is the type of person who sleeps late and enjoys pizza for breakfast. His fashion sense mirrors his easygoing nature.
Susan Hornik compared Craig’s Morgan to Prince Harry, describing him as a rebellious and charming character. Craig’s portrayal of Morgan has earned him a nomination for Outstanding Younger Actor at the Daytime Emmy Awards, which he won in 2016. However, on September 15, 2016, Craig announced his departure from the series through an Instagram post.
Following his departure from General Hospital, Bryan Craig went on to play the recurring character of Sgt Adam Coogan in The CW series Valor from 2017 to 2018. In 2019, he landed the lead role of Javi Mendoza in the ABC drama Grand Hotel.
After an eight-year absence, Bryan Craig is returning to General Hospital in 2024. This summer, he will reprise his role as Morgan Corinthos in a short appearance on the ABC soap opera.
Despite only appearing in one episode, fans will be delighted as they have been anticipating his comeback ever since the show’s executive producer hinted at a male character’s return during the Daytime Emmys earlier this month, according to ABC 7.
TVLine was the first to report Bryan Craig’s possible return, and he has been subtly alluding to it. On Instagram, he shared a slideshow of his recent activities, with the final image being a photo of him on the set of General Hospital.
Personal Life
Kelly Thiebaud and Bryan Craig’s love story began on the set of the show and continued off-screen. According to Daytime Confidential, Craig introduced Thiebaud to the vibrant world of the 2013 San Diego Comic-Con, where she was amazed by the fans’ passion for all things pop culture.
In 2016, Soap Opera Digest shared that the couple made their engagement public through social media. Craig appeared on “The Talk” to discuss his Daytime Emmy win and revealed that he and Thiebaud had chosen March 18, 2017 as their wedding date.
In January 2017, it was revealed that Thiebaud and Craig had seemingly ceased sharing images of themselves together on social media for a few weeks.
Despite never publicly announcing their split, Blasting News confirmed that the two actors were residing in different locations and posting separately on their social media platforms. Thiebaud had relocated to New York, while Craig remained in California to focus on his acting career.
