Breaking Bad famed Bryan Cranston is planning to move to France with his wife, Robin Dearden. The 67-year-old actor revealed his plans to spend more time with his wife in a small village in France. He plans to “level it out” for his wife and enjoy some time going on day trips and drinking wine.
Why Is Bryan Cranston Leaving Hollywood?
The Breaking Bad actor will next be seen in Wes Anderson’s Asteroid City which is set to release in theatres on June 2023. While talking to British GQ, Cranston revealed his plan to take a sabbatical from movies and move to France. He talked about planning to shut down his production company, Moonshot Entertainment, and sell his half of Dos Hombres. Cranston and his Breaking Bad co-star Aaron Paul, who played Jesse Pinkman, own a mezcal company together named Dos Hombres. According to Bryan, he wishes to put the plan in motion by 2026. He further revealed-
I want to change the paradigm once again,”
“For the last 24 years, Robin has led her life holding onto my tail. She’s been the plus one, she’s been the wife of a celebrity. She’s had to pivot and adjust her life based on mine. She has tremendous benefit from it, but we’re uneven. I want to level that out. She deserves it.”
Bryan Cranston and his wife Robin Dearden have been married for over three decades. He wishes to take the time off to have an adventure with his life partner but this does not mean he’s retiring permanently from Hollywood. He calls it a ‘pause’-
“I want to go for day trips and have the fire in the fireplace and drink wine with new friends and not read scripts. It’s not going to be like, ‘Oh, I’ll read and see what I’m going to do.’ No, it’s a pause. It’s a stop. I won’t be thinking about [work]. I’m not going to be taking phone calls.
Bryan Cranston Dreams of a Fairytale in France
Expanding further on his plans of taking a breather from work, Cranston imagines his wife reading Little Women and himself reading Adventures of Huckleberry Finn and Moby Dick. Bryan Cranston dreams of himself as one of the villagers in Beauty and the Beast, greeting Belle with baguettes and enacting, “Bonjour mademoiselle!”
He states further that he likes having a mysterious life and taking chances.
“It’s about taking a chance,”
“I’m used to that feeling – of not knowing.”
Well, it is only fair for the 67-year-old to be wanting a break with his wife. He’s been in the acting business since 1981 and has always been busy with new projects whether it’s acting, directing, or producing. Before being known as Walter White, the actor was a household name in the 2000s for his role as Hal in Malcolm In The Middle.

Wes Anderson’s latest project, Asteroid City will hit theatrical release on June 23, 2023. The film has a stellar cast lined up which has got the audience super excited.
