Burger King employee Lala made a TikTok about her experience with Karen. People on social media have hurried to support a fast food employee who says she was subjected to body shaming while working because one of the patrons was “distracted” by her attire.
Lala, a Burger King employee and TikToker who goes by the handle @rockefeller, recently spoke on social media about an incident with a customer who said her husband found her attire to be “too distracting”. Lala, who has 596,000+ followers on TikTok, shared her account of the incident along with a picture of the offending clothing.
Burger King Employee, Lala Reacted When Customer Body-Shamed Her
While Lala was serving the couple, the client complained to her about the outfit, according to Lala. The TikToker made the decision to get opinions from her TikTok audience and shared a video of herself in her typical Burger King attire.
Burger King employee Lala presented the “distracting” uniform piece by piece while narrating the unpleasant occurrence using a text-to-speech voiceover. Her attire, which included a face mask, black pants, a collared polo shirt, and a cap with the fast-food chain’s logo, followed its rules.
Lala was irate and said as much in the video: “I had a lady complain today because my uniform was a ‘distraction’ to her husband…” She highlighted that she looked perfectly acceptable for her work shift by providing her audience with a 360-degree view of her attire. She looked clearly irritated as she gave the camera the finger and simply captioned the TikTok, “Girl, f*** you.”
Burger King Employee Made The Video Viral On Social Media
With only 5.7 million likes and 28.1 million views, the viral post immediately gained a great deal of support from viewers. Many expressed appreciation for Lala’s appearance and reassured her that her outfit was fine, saying she wasn’t at blame.
The customer’s detractors claimed that Lala’s employer objectified her when she was only performing her duties, and that this was the source of any discomfort. “Distract him from what??,” a commentator brought up the ridiculousness. Place a Burger King order? According to Lala’s explanation, the woman was frustrated because she was attempting to communicate with her husband but he was not listening.
“Maybe she should just get a new husband. You can’t help what goes on in other relationships. Just be you,” one commenter wrote.
“Girlllll you look so good I don’t blame him for looking respectfully.” Another said.
The reason why the husband was unable to maintain his composure continued to perplex many people. Burger King employee Lala shot back, saying, “It seems like she was trying to tell him something, and she got upset because he wasn’t listening.”
Someone also commented, “Judging by her reaction, I have a feeling that he’s probably cheated on her once or twice.”
In later videos, Lala addressed the issue in a playful manner, responding to a joke from a reader that said, “Don’t forget to leave your a$$ at home today!” She demonstrated her point by dressing in an oversized uniform, highlighting the fact that people’s choice to sexualize her was the problem, not what she was wearing.
Burger King employee Lala began another TikTok by stating: “This one is for the body shamers [clown emoji]…” She showcased her new “Dickies-style” work pants, two sizes larger than her usual, to demonstrate that her clothing choice was not the problem. She concluded the response video with a humorous touch, writing: “As y’all can see, regardless of what I wear, my thang will always be thangin’ [sic].”
Sadly, it appears that some people are unable to escape being unfairly scrutinised and objectified when they are merely attempting to carry out their duties.
