The Sequel to Captain Marvel was announced just after its release, because of amazing critical reviews. We have some tidbits for the second part, here is what we know about Captain Marvel 2.
Captain Marvel Ending Explained
While Captain Marvel played an important character in Avengers: Endgame, it still left room open for the explanation of Carol Danvers absence during previous Avengers threats. Many fans have been asking why didn’t Nick Fury called Captain Marvel through that pager during Loki’s invasion in the first movie or during Age of Ultron. The answer is simple, Fury has made Avengers for the same reason to handle threat in her absence and he had confidence in his Avengers team members.
The Plot for the Sequel
At the end of the previous instalment, Brie Larson’s character, Carol Danvers left earth. She needed to find a new home for the surviving Skrulls in Space, along with a promise to destroy the evil Kree. Danvers told The Supreme Intelligence that she will be back to destroy her evil reign. Maybe the movie would focus on Captain Marvel defeating the Kree.
Another plot point that was left open in the previous movie was the fate of young Ronan at the end of Guardians of the Galaxy (2014). Ronan retreated at the end of the movie while hinting that he will be back for the weapon. The sequel could also set up Lee Pace’s Ronan as a primary villain. Jude Law’s Yon-Rogg will be a secondary threat.
Sequel Release Date
One thing we know for sure is that there will be a Sequel to MCU’s first female Superhero movie. It will take place mostly in space. MCU has not announced the schedule for phase 5 movies. Hence, we have not a specific release date for the movie yet.
There are many empty slots in 2022 and 2023. Planned sequels for Doctor Strange, Black Panther and Guardians of the Galaxy are in the pipeline. There is a high possibility the sequel releases around the start of next year in February. Stay tuned to Hiptoro for more Avengers and Captain Marvel Updates and other news.
