Samuel L. Jackson Calls Out to Captain Marvel
Marvel aficionados are abuzz with anticipation! A brand-new 30-second teaser for The Marvels has just dropped, featuring Samuel L. Jackson’s iconic character, Nick Fury, making an impassioned plea to Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel. As Fury declares, “We are at war. Captain Marvel, we need you to save the world,” fans worldwide felt a rush of excitement.
What the New Promo Reveals
In addition to Jackson’s enthralling words, the promo is replete with action-packed sequences, showcasing what the next installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) holds for its audience. One of the most exciting moments was the brief appearance of South Korean actor Park Seo-joon. He is rumored to play Prince Yan of Aladna from Earth-616 in the comics, a detail highlighted by CBR.
Diving into the World of “The Marvels”
In The Marvels, Captain Marvel, played by Brie Larson, finds herself venturing into an entirely different universe. She’s not alone in her mission; she’s joined by Ms. Marvel and Captain Rambeau, creating a formidable three-woman team of avengers.
The official synopsis reads: “Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel has reclaimed her identity from the tyrannical Kree and taken revenge on the Supreme Intelligence. But unintended consequences see Carol shouldering the burden of a destabilized universe. When her duties send her to an anomalous wormhole linked to a Kree revolutionary, her powers become entangled with that of Jersey City super-fan, Kamala Khan aka Ms. Marvel, and Carol’s estranged niece, now S.A.B.E.R. astronaut Captain Monica Rambeau. Together, this unlikely trio must team-up and learn to work in concert to save the universe as The Marvels.”
The Star-Studded Cast
The Marvels, a sequel to the box office sensation Captain Marvel, further intertwines the MCU narratives. Carol Danvers, initially introduced in Captain Marvel, subsequently appeared in Endgame, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, and Disney’s Ms. Marvel.
Brie Larson’s portrayal of Danvers finds company in a stellar cast. Teyonah Parris stars as Monica Rambeau, Iman Vellani takes on the role of Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel, and Samuel L. Jackson returns as Nick Fury. The film also features familiar faces like Kamala Khan’s family members and Monica’s mother, Maria Rambeau, played by Lashana Lynch, along with FBI agent Jimmy Woo, portrayed by Randall Park.
Zawe Ashton debuts in the franchise as Dar-Benn, a Kree warrior-turned-politician. Director Nia DaCosta describes her character as someone “hellbent on saving the Kree home planet, Hala, and exalting her people to their rightful place in the universe.” It’s worth noting that Ashton is engaged to Tom Hiddleston, the actor behind the infamous Loki.
Ahead in the MCU Calendar
Interestingly, The Marvels is rumored to boast the most concise run-time among MCU movies. Fans can mark their calendars for November 10th, when the movie rolls out as a pivotal part of MCU’s Phase 5.
Stay tuned as the universe of Marvel continues to expand, bringing epic tales and legendary heroes to the big screen.
