Cardi B has never been afraid to express her thoughts freely, and now that a disturbing video of the Dalai Lama with a young boy has come out, she is calling him out.
This week, the WAP singer went on social media to talk about the spiritual leader’s awkward conversation with a young boy and how she taught her own kids to respect boundaries.
This world is full of predators. They prey on the innocent. The ones who are most unknowing, our children,
Cardi B said.
Predators could be our neighbors, our school teachers, even people with money, power and our churches. Constantly talk with your kids about boundaries and what they shouldn’t allow people to do to them.
But Cardi B soon found herself in the middle of a social media firestorm when Twitter and Instagram users jumped at the chance to remind her of her own criminal past.
Specifically, Cardi B’s controversial confession that she used to “drug” and “rob” men when she was a stripper.
But the former stripper turned rap superstar from New York wasn’t going to take that lying down.
The 30-year-old hit back at the “hypocrites” who attacked her online, calling them:
I said protect ya kids from predators?
Like do y’all want them to get preyed on or something? PROTECT OUR KIDS and let them know not to let anyone touch their private parts.
Cardi B went on:
Don’t let no one kiss them in their mouth. And [tell them to] always feel comfortable letting mommy and daddy know what happens.
She added:
If you find a problem with that then I’m side-eyeing you.
Cardi B then pointed at what happened with the Dalai Lama and said:
Wow all this support I’m getting at the same time is beautiful. It was deep in my heart to talk about this cause me & my friend was talkin last night & then the dalai lama thing happen this morning.
Thank you everyone..I just have to realize the people attacking me are just projecting.
Her comments on social media came after the 87-year-old Dalai Lama was seen in a video that some people found strange.
After he talked to the little boy, the spiritual leader was accused of acting inappropriately.
On February 28, a group of school students who had just graduated from the Indian M3M Foundation went to the Dalai Lama’s temple in Dharamshala. Dharamshala is in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh.
The Dalai Lama waved at the boy to come to the platform where he was sitting. He then pointed to his cheek and said,
First here.
The video then shows the boy giving him a kiss on the cheek and a hug.
The Dalai Lama then said to the boy, “I think here also.” He then kissed the boy on the lips and told him, “And s*ck my tongue,” while sticking out his tongue.
The child tried to run away, but the 87-year-old man grabbed him and held him close while the crowd laughed.
Since then, the interaction has become a big deal on the internet, with thousands of people criticizing the Dalai Lama for his bad behavior.
People have talked about the situation on social media, calling it “highly disturbing,” “shameful,” and “absolutely insane.”
