Here is a strange story. Meet Clive, the Norwegian Forest cat who was separated from his owners for 14 wonderful, food-filled months. Now, a legend who is still alive.
Enter Clive. The Norwegian Forest Cat.
In December 2014, Clive, a two-year-old Norwegian Forest cat, ran away from home. His owners, Tanya and Jonathan Irons, were very upset.
After 14 months.
After 14 months, Tanya and Jonathan got a very interesting phone call. Staff at a pet food factory two miles away found Clive. They had seen that treats were going missing from the factory.
Living the good life.
It seems that Clive had been living in the pet food factory the whole time because when he went back to his owners, they said he was almost twice as big as when he left.
Colin Lewis, who was in charge of retail at the company, took the staff at Mirror, “I’ve been trying to catch him for weeks when I found out we had a cat living in the warehouse … It’s amazing. The warehouse is 20 thousand square foot of pet food. I think there’s been a few holes in some of the boxes.”
Such a sly boy.
Lewis said that everyone worked together to catch Clive. “We got the trap from a cat rescue centre. It’s a cage – you put some food in it, then when the cat goes in there’s a pressure pad that shuts the door behind it.”
Finally reunited.
After they caught Clive, they took him to the vet to scan his microchip and find his owners. “Clive only ate cat food in the factory, I think he thought he was living in a penthouse,” ended Lewis.
