While not officially confirmed yet, Chainsaw Man Season 2 will return to action soon. In an exclusive interview with WeGotThisCovered, Ryan Colt Levy has hinted about Chainsaw Man Season 2 and his expectation with the series.
“Season One is Tame”: Chainsaw Man VA Ryan Colt Levy
Ryan Colt Levy, the Voice Actor for Denji, a.k.a Chainsaw Man, talks about his journey in the anime world, his love for the manga series, and what the future holds for Season 2. Levy is also known for his roles in My Hero Academia: World Heros’ Mission as Rody Souls, Attack On Titan: No Regrets as Farlan Church, Vinland Saga Season 2 as Olmar, and several other popular anime series.
Voice Actor Ryan Colt Levy revealed in an interview with MixDown that he started his journey as a guitarist and a singer in rock bands and would go on weekend acting classes.
Eventually, I picked up a guitar & started singing in rock bands but I still would travel into the city for acting classes on the weekends & make films with friends. I took a long break from acting until I moved with my band from NY to Los Angeles in 2015 & began local scene study/improv classes again around 2018.
When asked what got him into voice acting, Levy disclosed to MixDown his love for comics, mangas, animes, games, etc. However, he had no plans for voice acting initially. Levy described his journey as “unexpected,” beginning with small voice-over gigs and finally getting a significant role as the lead voice actor.
Funny enough it definitely wasn’t what I expected my life path to be. Once I began getting on camera acting work in commercials & small projects, I found myself also booking small voice over roles & after meeting a now friend & peer (David Sobolov) I then had a voice reel made & reached out to local studios/casting directors to further focus in since I truly enjoyed it over the process of on camera.
One of the challenging scenes for Levy, as per the interview with WeGotYouCovered, was the fight between Katana Devil and Denji, which required him to express his emotions and fierce shouting. Chainsaw Man has not been officially confirmed by the Mappa yet, but there is no doubt that we will get a Season 2 by 2024. Levy hinted at Season 2 and talked about his expectations for the upcoming season in an interview with WeGotYouCovered.
“If they follow it as fatefully as they do, I’m so so so excited for a lot of the other devils and fiends to get their time to shine because the show gets so much more weird and fun and strange and sad. There’s a lot. So many people are just finding this show through the anime and it’s going to take them on such a rollercoaster. And I’m just excited to see how people respond to it all […] Honestly, season one is tame compared to what’s to come next.”
We likely hope Chainsaw Man Season 2 will return with the Bombgirl Arc, as hinted in the finale episode of Season 1. Until then, rewatch Chainsaw Man Season 1 only on Crunchyroll and Hulu.
