After enrolling in the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, Vickers relocated to London, England. It was during his time at the school that he met his future wife, actress Georgie Oulton, and he completed his studies in 2017.

Charlie Vickers portrayed the role of the Pazzi family’s youngest son in eight installments of the Netflix series Medici. He also had a prominent role in Rachel Ward’s Palm Beach, a comedic drama featuring Sam Neill, Matilda Brown, Greta Scacchi, and Richard E. Grant. Additionally, he co-starred with Carryl Thomas in the suspenseful movie Death in Shoreditch.

Vickers was cast in the lead role of Sauron in the Amazon series The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, based on J.R.R. Tolkien’s works, in 2022. He made his first appearance as Halbrand, Sauron’s human disguise, in episode 2. It is said that Vickers was not informed of his role until the third episode was being filmed.

In order to fully embody the character, Charlie Vickers spent five days hiking through New Zealand’s Tongariro National Park. And for the underwater scenes, he learned how to free dive.

Vickers is an avid runner who has participated in multiple triathlons and consistently runs 5–10 km (3.1–6.2 mi) several times per week. In 2023, Charlie Vickers made an appearance in a miniseries based on Holly Ringland’s book, The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart, playing the character of Clem Hart.
