Bingwa is a 4-year-old zoo resident. A record-breaking 8-cub litter has just been born. This is the first time in the history of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums that a cheetah has given birth to more than one litter. The litter size is usually 3 to 4 cubs.
According to the zoo, Bingwa has become an ideal mom for her cubs. She has quickly become adept at caring for her very large litter of cubs — grooming, nursing, and caring for them attentively,” Steve Bircher, the zoo’s curator of mammals/carnivores stated.
Bingwa’s achievement is more significant than ever. The world’s fastest mammal is on the verge of extinction. There are believed to be just 7,100 big cats left in the wild. According to the newest census, predatory fluffs may decrease by an extra 53% over the next 15 years.
