Chris Brown is not happy right now.
This year, the singer was up for a Grammy Award, and he thought he was a sure thing to win.
In the Best R&B Album category, Chris Brown was up against Mary J. Blige’s Good Morning Gorgeous (Deluxe), Robert Glasper’s Black Radio III, Lucky Daye’s Candydrip, and PJ Morton’s Watch The Sun.
Glasper’s record won the gong, which must have been a great moment for him.
But Chris Brown was angry, so he went on social media to criticize the results.
In one Instagram story, Chris Brown said:
Bro who the f**k is this?
and in another post, he said,
Who the f**k is Robert Glasper
Chris Brown said he needs to improve if he wants to win another Grammy, and he even said he might try playing the harmonica next time to show he has a wide range of skills.
Robert Glasper is an American pianist, record producer, songwriter, and music arranger, in case you were wondering.
His win at the 65th Grammy Awards is his fifth win out of 11 nominations in eight different categories.
His main focus has been jazz, but he has also worked with well-known artists like Mac Miller, Anderson.Paak, Banks, Brittany Howard, Kendrick Lamar, Denzel Curry, Q-Tip, Common, and many others.
Black Radio III was his 11th studio album, and it was also nominated for a Grammy this year for Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical.
About Black Radio III, a source said:
Ten years after breaking barriers with Black Radio, Glasper’s vision of jazz, hip-hop and R&B as mutually sustaining forms remains as vital and promising as ever.
Another source added:
As preached on the record’s introduction, ‘We don’t play music. We pray music’. If that doesn’t resonate immediately, just one listen will justify the hype. Glasper is who he is for a reason. He knows how to turn hearers into believers.
A source wrote:
There’s not a single song on Black Radio III that suggests anything less than love for the process and exploration of themes, both from Glasper and his collaborators.
So, Chris Brown should now have enough information to figure out why he lost to Robert Glasper.
The 65th Grammy Awards took place at the Crypto.com Arena.
It’s the biggest night of the year for the music industry, and there sure were plenty more shocks, surprises, thrills, and spills.
