Different people drink alcohol. Teens may drink due to peer pressure. Adults can drink socially, as an occasional treat, at a celebration, or as a way of dealing with life. Alcohol can become addictive if you drink it on a regular basis.
It is possible to fall victim to drinking too much and too often if you are not an alcoholic. It is usually the first step in recovery to admit there is a problem.
She has gone a full year without drinking alcohol.
She wrote on Instagram, “not a drop of alcohol in 365 days!”
Chrissy said she misses the way she felt when she was drunk. She explained, “I miss feeling loopy and carefree sometimes, but to be honest toward the end, it didn’t give that fun feeling anymore anyhow.”
She explained why she used to drink. Teigen wrote, “I drank to end crazy anxiety that later mostly went away when I – get this – quit drinking!”
She is glad that she is sober, but she isn’t sure if she will ever drink again. Chrissy wrote, “I feel really good.”
There are many experiences that she wishes she remembered better. She knows that if she had not been drinking so much, she would have been able to enjoy these events more. One example was shared by her. She wrote, “I drank cafe patron and fell asleep while an Outback Steakhouse chef taught me (my friends) how to make a bloomin onion at my house. I wish I was awake for that.” She added, “Prayers for a blooming onion redo, @outback??”
When she looks at pictures of herself from events, awards shows, and family travel, she claims she doesn’t remember most of them.
The author will not drink alcohol for the foreseeable future. She plans to talk her problems out in therapy. She wrote, “I’ll let the bad dreams come up and try to sort them out in therapy, without booze.”Her husband, John Legend, commented on her post, “Soooooo proud of you, my strong beautiful wife!”
