Christina Applegate delighted her fans by appearing at the Critics’ Choice Awards on January 15. This marked her first awards appearance ever since her multiple sclerosis diagnosis back in August 2021. However, there was this one sick troll who aimed at Applegate’s overall appearance. The actress, who normally lets the hate slide, decided to call this person out and address the hateful comment. Christina Applegate was nominated for best actress in a comedy series. She was up against Quinta Brunson, Kaley Cuoco, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Devery Jacobs, and Jean Smart. While Smart bagged the award, Applegate won hearts.
Christina Applegate shared the message that the sick troll sent. The message read, “MS didn’t make you look that way, a plastic surgeon did. And you are a scammer and not [Christina] Applegate. And a bad plastic surgeon at that.” The ‘Dead to Me’ actress decided to speak out once and for all so that people who are connected with her could get a deeper understanding of the situation. She wrote, “Sooooo I made the unfortunate decision to look at some comments on an article from people mag about me and my kids at the CCA. Of course I told her that it wasn’t nice. This was her reply. What is wrong with people. By the way, I laughed.”
Christina Applegate shuts down sick troll post MS diagnosis
It wasn’t easy for Christina Applegate to get to terms with her new diagnosis. She opened up about her insecurities in a previous interview. The actress said, “Although it’s not like I came on the other side of it, like, ‘Woohoo, I’m totally fine.’ Acceptance? No. I’m never going to accept this. I’m p***ed. I had an obligation to Liz and to Linda, to our story. If people hate it, if people love it, if all they can concentrate on is, ‘Ooh, look at the cripple,’ that’s not up to me,” she said. “But hopefully people can get past it and just enjoy the ride and say goodbye to these two girls.”

Many of her fans came to rescue her and showed their support. One fan said:
My darling. You are beautiful inside and out. I love you from the bottom to the top of my heart, but you know that. Sadly, because of social media we get to see hateful messages from damaged individuals. Hurt people, hurt people. You are loved the world over, never forget that.
Another fan wrote:
Only very unhappy angry people hurt others always remember when you are happy you want everyone around you to feel the same, when you are miserable you want to bring misery to others. That always makes me feel good
One fan wrote:
Never read the comments.
One avid fan commented:
Hurt people hurt people. And you’re gorgeous by the way.
What a pathetic person. You, however, are spectacular!
Good for you for laughing about it! Some people just haven’t accomplished anything in life and try to bring others down to make themselves feel better. Try to look at the huge number of people supporting you. My whole timeline was full of people cheering for you! We love you!
