Christine Baumgartner, who is estranged from Kevin Costner, has recently taken up residence in a magnificent new rental in Montecito, California. Baumgartner’s recently acquired rental home in Santa Barbara County is a costly $40,000 a month. Nevertheless, it would seem that the 49-year-old is not pleased with her family residing in the luxurious residence.
Christine Baumgartner Loses The Child Support Claim
Costner was asked by Baumgartner to up the payments to $161,000, however, a Santa Barbara County judge decreased the amount of child support to $63,209, from $129,000.
At a recent hearing, Christine Baumgartner reportedly informed the court that the latest rental property was inadequate for her children to have a comparable living space to what their father supplied.
The ex-model, 49, remarked that while her rental comes with a pool house and guest quarters, people “would need to go into [the main house] for a shower.” She mentioned that her two sons, Caden aged 16, and Hayes aged 14, would need to utilize the same bathroom while her daughter Grace, aged 13, would share hers with the rest of the household.
Christine Baumgartner’s lawyers also mentioned that their kids enjoy luxury vacations and fly on a private plane with their father. In order to provide a similar lifestyle to them when the kids are with their mothers, Baumgartner shall be liable for an increased sum for child support.
“Because the children fly on private aircraft to go on luxury vacations when they are with their father, the Family Code dictates that Kevin should pay sufficient child support to Christine so that the children can go on comparable vacations when they are with her.”
The Yellowstone actor expressed his distress that the court could mandate him to pay more in child support than what was necessary for the children. He also expressed his apprehension of being financially strained, as he only takes part in projects that are of personal interest or which he has funded himself and doesn’t typically do sequels.
“I will always take care of my family, but that number [Christine Baumgartner’s child support request] is grossly inflated,” added Costner while on the stand.
Kevin Costner further added that he had spent all his life building his house for himself and his family and could lose all that due to insufficient funds.
“I could run out of cash very quickly and that could force me to take jobs I don’t want to do and work later than I want to work. My homes in Aspen and here, I could lose them. I have spent my whole life building them as places for me and my family and friends.”
Kevin Costner’s Ex-Wife Settles In A Luxurious 40K/Month Rental Home
After being ordered by the judge to leave Costner’s $145 million estate in Carpinteria, California, Christine Baumgartner has stumbled upon a luxurious rental property in Montecito for $40,000 a month.
Although it is much less expensive than her former husband’s residence, it is still a glamorous property. The stunning grounds encompass a pool with a guesthouse, vibrant gardens, and a nearby hiking trail. The four-bedroom home with its open-concept layout is brimming with natural light and has a pleasant atmosphere, making it an ideal place to settle down.
In spite of the animosity between them, Costner declared he still loves his estranged wife, Christine Baumgartner, after the court ruled he had to pay her $63,000 monthly in child support.
“This is a horrible place to be, but this is where we’re at,” said Costner while talking about their legal battle.
He further added that he feels bad that this is happening to the couple and their family.
“I feel so bad. We’re talking about somebody I love on the other side. I just can’t.”
