The Cleveland Cavaliers’ guard Donovan Mitchell is likely to get traded this offseason. The player wants to play in a bigger market and is looking for a move-out. He was acquired by the Cavaliers recently, and experts believe that we may see the two parties parting ways very soon. The Cavaliers do not want to let the four-time NBA All-Star go and are trying to convince him to stay.
If things go horribly wrong and the Cavaliers are forced to let Mitchell go, they have made it clear that they expect a lot in return for the player. Not a lot of teams can afford to land the star, but there are some big names that can pull it off. Here are 3 teams that we think can be the next destination of Donovan Mitchell.
Donovan Mitchell to the New York Knicks
The Knicks might offer three players, including RJ Barrett, and three draft picks in exchange for the Cavaliers’ #45. That package would probably be enough to please the Cavaliers. They already have Evan Mobley and Darius Garland on their roster; they would fancy adding Barrett to the mix. On the other hand, the Knicks would have a lot of ball-dominant offensive players if they do this deal.

Donovan Mitchell to the Brooklyn Nets
The Nets have sorted their defense; if they do this deal, they will also have firepower on the other side of the court. The Nets also have the assets required to land the four-time NBA All-Star. The Knicks might involve another team as well if they want to see both Cameron Johnson and Mitchell play for them.

Donovan Mitchell to the Los Angeles Clippers
The Clippers were expected to land the Philadelphia Sixers’ James Harden this summer. The veteran requested a trade in the initial days of the NBA trade window, but the deal is yet to go through. We are closing in on the deadline, and we might witness the Clippers acquiring Mitchell instead of James.
Where will the star guard play next season? How much will the Cavaliers take in his return? We’ll keep you updated.
