Conor McGregor is arguably the biggest superstar to make a name for himself in the world of MMA/UFC. The former champ has been out of action since UFC 229, where he was penalized with a ban following a post-match altercation with Khabib Nurmagomedov’s crew! Now that the ban period is over and Khabib is back, McGregor, too, is eyeing a return.
However, for the Irishman to make a return, he needs to have an opponent too. This opponent is likely to be from the following few names:
Very possible, especially if McGregor wants end of year return. Loads of the division or potential opponents are already booked. Be a good co-main/backup for Khabib vs. Ferguson. https://t.co/Gqp5eH2W73

Conor McGregor’s Next UFC Opponent Confirmed?
Conor McGregor vs Max Holloway 2, Conor McGregor vs Dustin Poirier 2 and Conor McGregor vs Cowboy Cerrone are three likely alternatives. For McGregor, however, the biggest match that he wants to have is Conor McGregor vs Khabib Nurmagomedov – which Khabib keeps denying him!
With Khabib likely to face Tony Ferguson, Gaethje facing Cerrone – it leaves McGregor vs Poirier as the most likely fight that will take place in the days to follow. As to the question of ‘when’ – only McGregor (and possibly Dana White) know the answer!

McGregor’s Return Date – When Is Conor McGregor Returning?
Conor McGregor’s return has been scheduled for ‘later this year’. As of now no one knows when the Irishman will be back – but given how stacked UFC 243 and UFC 244 are, it is very unlikely that he would be back anytime before UFC 245 – but this is the PPV where Khabib vs Tony Ferguson is likely to happen and no way is McGregor co-main eventing his return! It will be interesting to see if he chooses the first 2020 PPV for his comeback.
