Given that he has already made a lot of money and announced a ‘retirement’, it just might be unlikely that we get to see McGregor back in the Octagon anytime soon – and the reason why McGregor vs Khabib II may just never happen. Let us take a closer look:
Conor McGregor Is All About The Money!
McGregor is all about the money. Given the fact that he has already made so much and has invested it in the right places, putting his body on the line again might just be a bad idea. McGregor, who has a range of successful products including Whiskey – which has been a huge hit in the US, looks like he is going to the Floyd Mayweather way, who became a full-time entrepreneur after retiring from boxing.
The only motivation that McGregor has for a UFC return is a rematch against Khabib Nurmagomedov.
Per NSAC, Conor McGregor’s disclosed pay for UFC 229 is a flat $3 million. Khabib Nurmagomedov is a flat $2 million.

However, given that he has been living the good life since October 2018 (after UFC 229), stepping back into the Octagon might not be such a good move.

Will There Be A McGregor vs Khabib II?
While the chances of a McGregor vs Khabib rematch happening continue to remain bleak, but we can never say never in the UFC. There’s always a possibility that given the right monetary motivation, both the guys might just agree for a rematch. However, as of this writing McGregor hasn’t fought since October and Khabib is yet to make his in-ring return.
