Jamie Foxx’s daughter, Corinne Foxx, has given an update on his health, following a month after it was first reported that he had been hospitalized for an unknown medical problem. The Daily Beast says that Foxx is not only back home and feeling much better, but he is also keeping busy by playing pickleball. Corinne Fox said that she didn’t appreciate the way the media made a big deal out of Foxx’s medical problem, even though the Spider-Man: No Way Home actor hasn’t said anything about it in public yet.
Just a few days ago, many online sources said that Jamie Foxx was in bad shape at the hospital and that his family was getting ready for the worst-case scenario in terms of his health. This seems to be false, according to his daughter, who said in a recent Instagram story that Foxx had been out of the hospital for a few weeks. This is in line with what Nick Cannon told the public on April 24th, which was that Foxx was awake and aware.
Of course, being awake and alert is a long way from being the best pickleball player in the world, so the public doesn’t really know what’s going on with Jamie Foxx. We do know for sure that Foxx’s health problems have affected the shooting schedules of both Beat Shazam, the interactive game show he hosts, and Back in Action, a Netflix original film that stopped filming in April because of his absence. Nick Cannon has agreed to host Beat Shazam instead of Jamie Foxx, but because of the delay in production, whole scenes had to be cut from the final version of Back in Action.
No one knows yet if this mystery illness will affect any of Jamie Foxx’s other films. According to IMDb, he is set to appear in a whopping 11 movies. Some of the planned appearances, like Strays with Will Ferrell, They Cloned Tyrone with John Boyega, and Nick Cassavetes’ God is a Bullet, are already in post-production. Other projects, like David Ayer’s remake of The Wild Bunch and Groove Tails with Dave Bautista, are still in the planning stages. In the upcoming TV miniseries called Tyson, Jamie Foxx will be portraying Mike Tyson.
It’s still not clear if Nick Cannon will take over hosting duties from Jamie Foxx on Beat Shazam‘s upcoming sixth season, but it’s clear that both of these well-known entertainers have a lot going on. No matter what the latest news stories say, what really matters is that Jamie Foxx is home and resting until he is ready to go back on stage for his next project. Corrine Foxx concluded her public statement by hinting that something exciting would be coming up in the next few weeks, which hopefully means that her father is feeling better.
