Cormac Roth, who was a musician and the son of actor Tim Roth, died at age 25.
In a statement released today (Monday, October 31), Cormac’s family said that the talented young musician died on October 16 after a long fight with cancer.
According to Variety, his family paid him tribute by writing: “He was a wild and electric ball of energy and his spirit was filled with light and goodness. As wild as he was, Cormac was also the embodiment of kindness. A gentle soul who brought so much happiness and hope to those around him.”
Then they talked about how sad they were that Cormac had died. “The grief comes in waves, as do the tears and laughter, when we think of that beautiful boy across the 25 years and 10 months that we knew him.”
The statement concluded: “An irrepressible and joyful and wild and wonderful child. Only recently a man. We love him. We will carry him with us wherever we go.”
Cormac was the son of Tim Roth and his wife, Nikki. He wanted to be a guitarist. His first album, “Python,” came out in 2018, and he worked on the soundtrack for Michel Franco’s movie New Order, which came out in 2020. He often shared his work on SoundCloud.
In a July 2022 Instagram post, he talked about his battle with cancer. He said that he was diagnosed with Stage 3 germ cell cancer in November 2021.
“It has taken away half of my hearing, 60 pounds of weight, my confidence, and will continue its murderous path until I can manage to stop it some how, and kill it,” he wrote.
“But it hasn’t taken away my will to survive, or my love of making music. It hasn’t taken me down yet,” Cormac added.
“Love to you all please make sure to do the things that you love. Life is short. It is chaos. And you never know when it’s going to be you. Be well and go to the doctor. F*** cancer,” the 25-year-old concluded.
Cormac is survived by parents and his brother, Hunter Roth.
At this time, our thoughts are with his family, friends, and fans.
