There appears to be a perception that while cats just lounge around, groom themselves, and do nothing all day, dogs are the animals who cause all the mayhem in the home. This impression is largely accurate. Really sluggish cats exist. However, cats have been known to get into more trouble than any other animal in the world on occasion, my god.
They may be active for brief periods during the day, but they make sure to be the biggest jerks possible when they are awake to make up for it. Examples include cats’ sporadic bursts of energy in the middle of the night and someone climbing inside our couches and giving us heart attacks while we search for them. Naturally, this is why we adore them.
