Cure for cancer is a big challenge for the researchers. This is because no possible cure has been developed as yet. It is because of the same reason that it becomes the second most dreadful epidemic. Cancer is also a big cause of deaths around the world. This makes it even more important for scientists to find a possible cure for it.

Cure for cancer: Decoy molecules will help in curing it

The decoy molecules could be the cure to cancer. This is all because of how these molecules work. These decoy molecules basically trick certain proteins.

This is for binding with them instead of other molecules. These other molecules are the ones that promote the growth of cancer cells.

These proteins are known as RNA binding proteins.

How will it work?

RNA binding proteins play a major role in the growth of cancer.

This is only because of their ability to bind with the RNA molecules. The binding therefore accelerates the growth of cancer cells. Thereby it promotes the spreading of cancer.

However, this new technique will prevent this from happening. This is because the decoy molecules will trick these proteins.

Because of this, the RNA proteins will bind to the decoy molecules. Therefore the growth of cancer cells will be inhibited.

Moreover, these proteins will also lose their cancer-promoting activity. This is because they are no longer able to bind with the RNA proteins.

Researchers’ statements

According to Professor Rotem Karni, this technology will be a new approach. This is in their war against cancer.

Therefore, this might be the ultimate treatment of cancer. Moreover, it could also be the cure to it.

There have been several decoys developed by the team. They have been tested mainly on brain cancer cells. The testing was through injections to mice.

The results are positive. The cancer cells could not replicate then. Moreover, the tumor also died off.

Therefore this approach can give desirable results in humans as well. Moreover, researchers are trying to develop decoys for other types of cancer.

We might soon have a cure for cancer in 2019a.
