Use AmritaKripa, a mobile app for Fani
A mobile app named “AmritaKripa” could be downloaded from PlayStore. This app is for helping the affected people during the disaster and also to help connect the victims to the teams. This app will be multilingual and will support languages like Hindi, Tamil, Bengali, English, and Kannada.
AmitaKripa is made by the Amrita WNA, also known as Wireless Network and Apps for Fani cyclone. Dr Maneesha Sudheer spoke to the media, who’s the director of AmritaNWA.
She said, “Often people who need help are not able to reach the helpline numbers due to the limited number of parallel calls that these lines can handle. This negatively impacts rescue missions, and precious lives are lost.”
“The worldwide app directly links the help-seekers and providers in a post-disaster environment using smartphones and the Internet, where the location data is picked up automatically using real-time GPS data. In disaster situations, pinpointing locations of survivors is the key”.
