One of the most underrated NBA teams this summer was the Dallas Mavericks. But even though they looked the best with players like Luka Doncic, Kyrie Irving, Tim Hardaway Jr., and others. This roster still feels incomplete to become the title contenders.
Here are the 3 trade deals the Mavs should consider to become the real title contenders in the NBA 2023-24 Season. Let’s have a look!
3 Trade Deals the Mavericks Should Consider
Dallas Mavericks Acquire Buddy Hield from the Indiana Pacers – The Trade Proposal
- Dallas Mavericks will receive the guard/forward Buddy Hield and the forward Jordan Nwora.
- The Indiana Pacers will receive the center Richaun Holmes, the forward/center Maxi Kleber, and the forward Olivier-Maxence Prosper.
Buddy Hield is currently on an expiring contract with the Indiana Pacers, and the franchise is unsure whether they should extend the veteran. If the Mavericks do the deal, they will receive one of the best shooters, Hield, alongside the young forward, Nwora.
Seth Curry reportedly cut by the Dallas Mavericks after a video of him drinking “Lean” and smoking marijuana surfaces.

Dallas Mavericks Acquire Dorian-Finney Smith from the Brooklyn Nets – The Trade Proposal
- The Dallas Mavericks will receive the forward Dorian Finney-Smith.
- The Brooklyn Nets will receive the center Richaun Holmes and a 2027 First-Round Draft Pick (Protected with Lottery – Dallas Mavericks).
Last year, the Mavericks moved Smith to the Brooklyn Nets as they were looking to acquire a co-star for Luka Doncic, and Irving was the right fit.
The Brooklyn Nets need the draft capital to trade for players since they have a bad start to the season. Hence, they could trade Finney Smith to the Mavericks, who is an ideal 3-and-D wing for the Mavs’ roster. But if the franchise is looking for a floor spacer, then they might consider the next proposal.
Dallas Mavericks Trade for Pascal Siakam from the Toronto Raptors – The Trade Proposal
- The Dallas Mavericks will receive the forward/center Pascal Siakam.
- The Toronto Raptors will receive the center Richaun Holmes, the forward/center Maxi Kleber, the guard/forward Josh Green, the forward Olivier-Maxence Prosper, the guard Jaden Hardy, a 2026 First-Round Draft Pick (Dallas Mavericks), a 2027 First-Round Draft Pick (Swap – Dallas Mavericks), a 2028 First-Round Draft Pick (Swap – Dallas Mavericks), and a 2030 First-Round Draft Pick (Dallas Mavericks).
Pascal Siakam is one of the best players out of these 3 trade proposals the Dallas Mavericks may acquire. He is currently one of the best big men with excellent floor spacing abilities.
Moving Siakam would not be a big issue for the Raptors. However, since the Mavericks are low on draft capital, they would hesitate to lock this deal.
