UFC President Dana White has hinted that tech giants Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg are“very serious” about facing each other in a cage match. The two billionaires have been exchanging statements over social media asking each other for a cage match.
Musk vs Zuckerberg Drama
Ever since Mark Zuckerberg announced that he’s been working on Twitter’s rival app, Thread, Musk has taken things to the next level. Zuckerberg’s Thread app has been pitched to celebrities and influencers as a “stable place to build and grow.” Reacting to the pitch, Musk tweeted,
“At least it will be ‘sane.’ Was worried there for a moment.”
It all began after Musk’s tweet and now we have the UFC President, Dana White involved who is rooting for the fight to take place. Here are the events that led to their fight becoming an internet sensation-
One of his followers asked Musk to watch his words around Zuckerberg since the Meta CEO has been battling in Jiu-Jitsu competitions. To this, Musk responded with a tweet which added fuel to the fire-
“I’m up for a cage match if he is lol.”
Zuckerberg took to his Instagram account to respond to Musk asking him to “send his location.”
Social media has been divided since these exchanges between two tech giants started going viral. The majority of people favour Zuckerberg winning the fight if the two are to face each other since he has been sharing his fitness journey. Recently in May, Zuckerberg took to his social media to share the news of winning the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competition. He shared the pictures from the contest with the caption-
“Competed in my first jiu jitsu tournament and won some medals 🥇🥈 for the Guerrilla Jiu Jitsu team. Thanks to Dave Camarillo, Khai Wu, and James Terry for training me!”
Dana White Confirms UFC Match Between Musk & Zuckerberg
While talking to TMZ, UFC President Dana White confirmed that both Elon Musk & Mark Zuckerberg are serious about the fight. He said-
“I was talking to both Elon and Mark last night. Both guys are absolutely dead serious about this. They both want to do it.”
“Mark Zuckerberg hit me up first and said, “Is he serious?” And I said I don’t know, let me ask him. I asked him (Elon) and he said, “Yeah, I’m dead serious”
Talking about the UFC match between Musk and Zuckerberg, Dana White said it would be the “biggest fight ever in the history of the world.” He continued-
“Bigger than anything that’s ever been done. It would break all Pay Per View records. These guys would raise, you know, hundreds of millions of dollars of charity.”
“And you don’t have to be a fight fan to be interested in this fight. Everybody would want to see it.”
Elon Musk has proposed Las Vegas’ Octagon as the location for the match in response to Zuckerberg asking for his location. As Dana White said, it truly will be the biggest fight in history if the two billionaires decide to jump in the ring and face each other. Their internet feud has already garnered so much interest, it is only a matter of time until the two put on their boxing gloves and put an end to it once and for all.
When asked if he was trying to organize the fight, Dana White responded-
“I make fights that people want to see, that’s what I do for a living. So, if they really want to do it and they’re serious, we can figure out a way to pull this off. I will absolutely, positively do this.”
