Dave Grohl is once again showing that he is a rock star both on and off the stage by using his BBQ skills to feed people who are less fortunate.
Wednesday night, around midnight, the lead singer of the Foo Fighters showed up at Hope The Mission in Los Angeles with some overnight gear and a huge meat smoker. Grohl spent the next 16 hours cooking ribs, pork butt, brisket, cabbage, coleslaw, and beans. It took him 14 hours to cook the meat and 2 hours to let it rest.
From the pictures we have, you can see how hands-on Dave was during the whole process. He worked in the kitchen to make sure everything was just right.
It is said that Dave Grohl paid for everything himself and took naps in the parking lot while the meat was being smoked.
When it was time to serve, Dave Grohl talked to the staff at Hope The Mission and the people staying in the shelter. According to sources his huge BBQ fed about 450 guests and 50 staff members.
