DC Animated movies are some of the best adaptation of our favorite superheroes from the comics. While the live-action Justice League was a disaster, the animated one is a masterpiece and almost every single movie in that series is amazing. The best part is that they are direct to video release, hence one doesn’t have to wait and can enjoy the movies from the comfort of their home. Here are the upcoming DC animated movies with a 2020 release date: Superman: Red Son, Superman: Man of Tomorrow, Batman: The Long Halloween, Justice League Dark: Apokolips War and Super Pets movie.
Superman: Red Son
Superman: Red Son is the alternate reality version of Superman if he had been found in Russia instead of Kansas, US and is based on the popular comic-book of the same name. It will be the first DC animated movie to release this year and Superman: Red Son will have historical figures like Joseph Stalin and John F. Kennedy to make it more realistic.
Release Date: February 25, 2020 (Digital) and March 17, 2020 (Blu-Ray)
Superman: Man of Tomorrow
Superman: Man of Tomorrow will be based on the early days of the titular hero where he is still learning his powers. The movie is based on an original story and hardly contains any references from the comics. It will show more of Clark Kent as he journeys to become the Man of Tomorrow as Superman we know and it will release in the second half of 2020.
Batman: The Long Halloween
Batman: The Long Halloween is finally getting a movie treatment and it will be released as a two-parter meaning the story will be amazing and closer to the comics. Bruce Wayne has just become Batman, and he will use his detective skills to stop a serial killer in Gotham. Batman: The Long Halloween part 1 and part 2 will both release in 2020 as per the reports.
Justice League Dark: Apokolips War
Justice League: Dark is kind of the magical version of the team consisting of John Constantine, Zatanna, Dead Man, Black Orchid, and Swamp Thing who will take on the New Gods and New Genesis in Justice League Dark: Apokolips. The movie will explore the early days of Steppenwolf and Darkseid and will unite the most popular DC heroes with the mystery magic users.
Super Pets Movie
Super Pets will come into the rescue of the world when all the main heroes are mind-controlled by an unknown alien creature. Comet, Krypto, Streaky, and Beppo will be the main members of Super Pets, who are the animal version of Justice League superheroes. The mind tricks don’t work on these animals and they will save the day and free all the heroes from the evil alien.
