Marvel’s Deadpool 3 has been one of the most anticipated superhero movies of this year. After the release date was pushed back multiple times due to the ongoing writers’ and actors’ strikes, the movie has been confirmed to hit theatres in May 2024. The last few months have offered a lot of details about the upcoming superhero movie.
The latest scoop that we’ve heard about the threequel is that Daniel Radcliffe and Dafne Keen are rumored to join the cast list. Here’s everything we know so far.
Daniel Radcliffe Joins Deadpool 3
Industry insider Daniel Richtman has suggested that there may be a place for Radcliffe in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, alluding to the fact that the English actor has apparently been chosen to star alongside Jackman and Ryan Reynolds in Deadpool 3 for a part kept under wraps. This isn’t the first time Radcliffe has been linked to Deadpool 3.
After the Disney-Fox merger gave Marvel Studios the rights to the X-Men, there were speculations online about who could play the characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Radcliffe was one such actor who was found suitable for the role of Logan/Wolverine. However, since it has been announced that Jackman will be reprising his role as Wolverine for Deadpool 3, it is unlikely that Radcliffe will have the chance to play the part.
Shawn Levy will be directing Deadpool 3, a sequel that will reunite the original Deadpool cast such as Karan Soni as Dopinder, Morena Baccarin as Vanessa, Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, Stefan Kapičić as Colossus, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, and Shioli Kutsuna as Yukio. Levy has teamed up with Reynolds on multiple occasions, including Free Guy and The Adam Project, and he co-wrote the screenplay for this movie with Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, and Zeb Wells.
Rumors have been circulating that a number of cameos have been arranged, with X-Men characters such as Storm, Cyclops, and Jean Grey possibly making an appearance, as well as Channing Tatum and Taylor Kitsch as different versions of Gambit.
Additionally, it has been reported that Liev Schreiber will be back in his X-Men Origins: Wolverine role as Victor Creed/Sabertooth. Furthermore, it has also been alleged that Deadpool is also set to appear in a few forms, including Dogpool, Kidpool, Lady Deadpool, and more.
Logan’s Dafne Keen To Make A Comeback As X-23
Following Dafne Keen’s lauded act as Laura/X-23 in Logan alongside Wolverine actor Hugh Jackman in 2017, it was predicted that the teenage actress would get the chance to play the part again in the future. Keen said before the Disney agreement that there were conversations about her possibly coming back as Laura in a new project, and it appears she may have the chance to wield her claws again in the MCU.
During a 2020 interview with ComicBook.com, Keen had expressed her desire to play Laura again.
“I’m trying not to get my hopes up too high in case it doesn’t happen, but I really do hope it does because I loved playing Laura. She holds a very special place in my heart and she’s an incredible character. And to be fair, the whole Deadpool 3 situation really, really made me happy because, obviously when Disney bought Fox, I suspected they weren’t going to do any more R-rated films, but then greenlighting Deadpool is a great sign for other R-rated movies.”
Now, scooper CanWeGetSomeToast has also shared reports about the potential confirmation of Dafne Keen joining the cast of Deadpool 3 as a grown-up Laura Kinney/X-23.
Sources have newly confirmed that Marvel went into negotiations with Dafne Keen right before the strikes started to bring her back as a grown up Laura Kinney/#X23 in #Deadpool3.

Levy recently revealed that work on Deadpool 3 had been put on hold at the present due to the Hollywood strikes. He noted that they had already finished around half of the filming for the significant project before the SAG-AFTRA strike began. He further indicated to what viewers can expect from the R-rated Marvel Studios movie, referring to the usage of real sets rather than computer-generated ones. He declared,
“Our movie is raw, audacious, very much R-rated. We went to great lengths to not shoot it on sound stages with digital environments.”
