A big congratulations to the defensive back sensation of Georgia Bulldogs, Deandre Baker. The past Thursday night, Baker received the highest honor of winning the Jim Thorpe Award. This award is the most prestigious award for a defensive back.
This is the first ever Jim Thorpe Award for Georgia Bulldogs. He won the race for the trophy against LSU’s Greedy Williams and Notre Dame’s Julian Love. Minkah Fitzpatrick of Alabama received this honor last season.

Deandre Baker has always been regarded as one of the most experienced cornerbacks by the experts. ESPN’s Todd McShay said that even though he will rank Greedy Williams just a little bit higher than Baker, the latter has everything that it takes to become an NFL star in years to come.
Baker has said that his final collegiate game will be on New Year when his team will take on their arch rivals Texas on the biggest stage of them all, The Sugar Bowl.
