DELL just introduced the world’s first 49″ Curved UltraWide Monitor with 5K (5120×1440) Display. The aspect ration will be 32:9. It can be considered equivalent to two Thunderbolt Displays.
This expansive screen can be used to display two desktops at a time and control them with a single keyboard and mouse. The compatibility is not going to be an issue for this new monitor as it can be used with 13″ and 15: MacBook Pro models. The connectivity will be via a single USB-C cable, or it also comes up with one DisplayPort 1.4 port, two HDMI 2.0 ports, five USB 3.0 downstream ports and two upstream ports. These connectivity options are enough to give you an idea about the devices which can be used simultaneously with this UltraSharp 49.
According to Dell, the 3800R curvature of the US 49, will give an immersive panoramic view to the user. The monitor will have a viewing angle of 178 degrees both vertically and horizontally.
However, DCI P3 isn’t supported in this monitor. It has 1000:1 contrast ratio and shows 99 percent of the sRGB color gamut.
All these features come at a whopping cost of $1,699.99. The model number is U4919DW.
