In the recent Swordsmith Village Arc of the Demon Slayer anime, the upper demon 5 Gyokko is another significant antagonist. Without any spoilers let us know more about this demon and his art.
Who is Upper Demon 5 Gyokko?
Gyokko was introduced in the anime along with the other upper-rank demons in the first episode of the Swordsmith Village arc. He is a distorted demon that comes out of a vase, much like a Djinn. Gyokko has no arms on his body and his face is also completely distorted. His mouths are in the position of his eyes, and his eyes are on the top and bottom of his face. Gyokko also has tiny arms that come out of his face. This could also be an indication of how he distorts and uses his body to resemble his art.
He would tell you it’s an artistic expression

Gyokko is also one of Muzan’s favorite demons because his artistic vases sell for a high price. Muzan is also the only person that Gyokko likes, and gets very excited to be around him. Gyokko is very petty, sadistic, arrogant, and a narcissist. However, much of this is yet to be shown in the anime.
What abilities does Gyokko have?
Gyokko was able to make it to the upper rank 5 in the Twelve Kizuki and managed to hold that position for over 100 years. He uses his art in his blood demon art, for which he utilizes his vases. Gyokko can teleport from anywhere within his art. He can manipulate his flesh to look a lot more ugly and less dangerous than he actually is. Gyokko has immense durability, regeneration skills, and high speed and reflexes.

Upper demon 5 Gyokko constantly calls himself an artist and does not take criticism lightly. He can transport anywhere within his vases, no matter how far they are. His vases can also fit multiple people inside them to kill or store for future consumption. He can use the vases to create creatures, such as seen in the swordsmith village arc episode 4. These creatures can only be killed when the vases at the back are broken.
Most of his creatures are centered around aquatic life forms such as fish. They all possess different abilities, such as shooting out needles to kill or leaving out poisonous liquid once dead.
