Dick Van Dyke was involved in a single-car accident after allegedly “losing control of his vehicle.”

According to law enforcement sources, officers were dispatched to the scene in Malibu, California, last Wednesday and found the legendary actor behind the wheel of his 2018 Lexus LS 500.

The 97-year-old Mary Poppins star was discovered with a bloodied nose and mouth, and paramedics were called.

Dick Van Dyke was then treated on the side of the road but refused to go to the hospital.

According to sources, Dick Van Dyke avoided serious injury but may have suffered a concussion (although this could not be confirmed).

Another source says that the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang star told officers that he “lost control” of his vehicle due to the heavy rain. With the road surface wet, the actor allegedly skidded and crashed into a gate.

Other sources say that alcohol or drugs were not a factor in the crash, but officers have reportedly submitted paperwork to the DMV requesting that the actor retake a driving test, which is not uncommon for a person his age.

The actor was picked up by a loved one after receiving treatment.

According to another source, the incident comes nearly ten years after the actor was involved in another car accident that required him to be rescued from his burning Jaguar in Los Angeles.

Dick Van Dyke, despite his long career and 97 years of life, shows no signs of slowing down.

In fact, he was unmasked as one of the contestants on FOX’s The Masked Singer just last month.

Check out that amazing moment below (it brought Nicole Scherzinger to tears):

Dick Van Dyke wowed us all with his abilities when he performed Frank Sinatra’s hit song “When You’re Smiling,” doubling down on the fact that getting older doesn’t mean you have to stop doing what you love.

And the actor attributes his youthful appearance to his happy marriage to Arlene Silver, 51.

During a new interview, the 97-year-old was asked about his “secret to staying so youthful,” to which he replied,

having a beautiful young wife half my age to take care of me – that works

We wish Dick Van Dyke the best of luck in his recovery!
