The American true crime TV series Dirty John premiered on 14 February 2019 internationally ans Dirty John Season 2 is much awaited. The series is based on the podcast by Christopher Goddard. The series will be divided into eight parts and will be aired on Netflix.
The story revolves around the life of Debra Newell, a businesswoman. Her life changes completely when she gets trapped in countless lies and gets manipulated by con man John Meehan. The show was first premiered on Bravo on 25 November last year, before it was released internationally few days back on Netflix.
The show is neither based on a book nor is a work of fiction. A real crime podcast is the inspiration of the show. It is a first hand account from podcast of 2017 Los Angeles Times. Connie Britton will portray the role of Debra Newell.
In the show, Debra is depicted as a middle aged and successful interior designer. She falls in love with John Meehan (Eric Bana) who is a wealthy anaesthesiologist. Since the very beginning, she believes John’s lies. John falsely claims to be someone he’s not. He seems too good to be true to Debra. Debra’s daughter is the first one to point out that something is going on with John.
Debra just decides to follow her heart and go with the flow. She listens to John, but it gets a little dramatic towards the end and violent as well.
The audience was a little shook by the Dirty John Season 1 of the show. The fans are eagerly waiting for Dirty John Season 2. However, there is no official news about the release date of the Dirty John Season 2 yet.
