The news about the remake of The Lion King was made back in 2016, after the success of the remake of Jungle Book. Jungle Book earned around $966 million at the box office and featured Idris Elba, Scarlett Johansson, Giancarlo Esposito, Ben Kingsley, Lupita Nyong’o, Christopher Walken, Gary Shandling and Bill Murray as the voice cast.
Everyone involved in The Lion King are being very careful with their role. Billy Eichner revealed that he totally freaked out at first when he came to know about the cast. He got to sing ‘Can You Feel the Love Tonight’ along with Nala and Simba, which are voiced by Beyonce and Donald Glover.
The Lion King is going to be the third remake by Disney.
