There a lot of theories floating around the internet about Doctor Strange 2 and one of them is recently getting a lot of traction and has gone viral. It says that Mysterio can be finally a real superhero in one of the parallel worlds and Bruce Campbell could be the actor to portray the role. Since Sam Raimi has a track record of having cameo of Campbell in his every film and Raimi is now directing Doctor Strange 2, the theory sounds very plausible.
Doctor Strange 2 will Introduce the Multiverse in Marvel Universe
Doctor Strange 2 will introduce the Multiverse version of MCU where alternate characters reside on a different earth. Fans have recently witnessed the same in CW’s crossover ‘Crisis on Infinite Earths’ and Marvel is planning to do the same with the second Doctor Strange movie.
While Jake Gyllenhall played the role of Quentin Beck aka Mysterio in Spider-Man: Far From Home, but he was just a made-up superhero with the help of optical illusions. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness can change that and show Bruce Campbell as a real superhero on one of the multiple parallel earths.
Alternate Reality Versions of Superheroes and Villains
Doctor Strange 2 could also feature the alternate versions of main superheroes including Captain America, Thor, Iron Man and more. There are also fan speculations that Stephen Strange played by Benedict Cumberbatch will be the main leader of the Avengers team in one of the alternate worlds.
Some fans hope that it will also give a chance to have cameos of Spider-Man (Tobey Maguire), Old Man Logan (Hugh Jackson), and Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) in the sequel. Doctor Strange 2 also stars Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff and will release in theaters on May 7, 2021.
