Dora Explores the Big Screen Once Again: The Animated Journey Ahead
Dora the Explorer is no stranger to adventures, and now she’s set for her biggest one yet on the silver screen. Mark your calendars because everyone’s favorite bilingual explorer and her furry companion, Boots, are making their animated debut in theaters.
From Jungle Adventures to Movie Magic
“Dora and the Fantastical Creatures” promises fans a vibrant escapade as it plays before “Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie.” This exciting short diverges from the 2019’s live-action adaptation “Dora and the Lost City of Gold” where Isabela Merced brilliantly portrayed Dora. Instead, Diana Zermeño lends her voice to the iconic character in this animated short.
The story unfurls in the enchanting land of alebrijes. For those unversed, alebrijes are among the “most magical and colorful creatures in the rainforest,” and Dora, alongside Boots voiced by Asher Spence, is on a mission to save these mesmerizing creatures and their grand Copal Tree Celebration. But, as with any Dora story, there’s a twist. The mischievous Swiper, voiced by the talented Marc Weiner, is on their trail, adding tension and thrill to the journey.
A Fresh Chapter in Dora’s Animated Saga
But there’s more in store for Dora aficionados. “Dora and the Fantastical Creatures” is not just a standalone project. It serves as a precursor to an all-new CG animated series titled “Dora,” set to stream on Paramount+ come Spring 2024. And if you’re a fan of good old television, you’re in luck, because Nickelodeon will also broadcast this adventurous series.
The cast is studded with talent. Anairis Quiñones voices both Luna Arcoiris and Map, with Danny Burstein channeling Sol and part of The Fiesta Trio. Kate del Castillo brings Ale to life, and there’s a parade of other seasoned voice actors like Maria Canals-Barrera, Katarina Sky, Donovan Monzon-Sanders, and more, each adding depth and flair to this vibrant world.
Directing the helm of this animated delight is William Mata, known for his brilliant work on “The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part” and “The Sea Beast.” Alejandro Bien-Willner, the screenplay’s maestro, collaborated with Sean Gill, ensuring a story that’s bound to enchant both young and older audiences alike.
Mark the Date!
All roads lead to September 29th, where along with “Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie,” Dora’s latest animated journey will captivate audiences. It’s more than just a film. It’s a celebration of exploration, friendship, and the magic of childhood dreams coming alive on the big screen. Be ready for an adventure like no other!
