Fans of The Dr. Oz Show, we have some bad news. You have a few weeks to enjoy the show. The show will be ending earlier than expected, according to Sony Pictures. On January 14, 2022, the last episode will air.
About two weeks after Mehmet Oz announced his candidacy to run for Senate as a Republican in Pennsylvania, the show was abruptly ended.
The show is not being canceled with anything in its place. It will be changed to something that fans will love. The Dr. Oz spin-off, The Good Dish is hosted by Oz’s daughter, Daphne Oz, along with Gail Simmons and Jamika Pesso. It will be launched three days after the last episode of The Dr. Oz show is aired.
“Audiences have been loving what Daphne, Gail, and Jamika have been serving up during their weekly segments on The Dr. Oz Show for years,” said Sony Pictures Television executive Zack Hernandez. “We have long believed The Good Dish would make an excellent stand-alone series and are delighted to be able to deliver this fresh take on the cooking genre to our station partners and their viewers across the country.”
Two people who are extremely talented and have won five Daytime Emmy Awards together are the Executive Producers of The Good Dish. Over its 13 seasons on the air, Oz Show won 10 Daytime Emmys. The producers say that The Good Dish will be a lot of fun in the kitchen.
Oz stated in his campaign statement that he would run for office to help cure the country’s ills. He added: “Pennsylvania needs a conservative who will put America first, one who can reignite our divine spark, bravely fight for freedom and tell it like it is.”
He is running to replace U.S. Sen. Pat Toomey, a Republican who is retiring. Democrats currently have majority control of the Senate, but the results of the race may affect that.
