However, the construction of large motor-sailing ships was technically difficult, and Senku was forced to change his plan. In the midst of all this, Ryusui, who has more feelings for motor sailboats than anyone else, proposes something. The building of a ship to sail out to the open sea reaches its climax!”

A brief recap of Dr. Stone Season 3 episode 4
Senku, Ukyo, Gen, Ryuusui, and Chrome found themselves in a debate when strange interference on the radio by the mysterious Why-Man put them on edge. However, Senku soon revealed his latest invention: a sonar device created using a rudimentary cathode-ray tube. Taking the sonar out for a test run on a speedboat, the team quickly caught a huge shoal of fish. Chrome then combined the sonar with an electromagnetic stick to invent the metal detector, which led them to an enormous iron deposit. This solved Senku’s problem of building a giant engine for his ship.

With the acquisition of gasoline’s by-product, Asphalt concrete, Senku put the muscle team to work on making a paved road from the iron mines to the nearest shore. To make transporting raw materials easier, he and Kaseki also built minecarts. Senku’s ingenuity and resourcefulness continue to amaze as he works towards his ultimate goal of reviving civilization from the stone age.
