No sex, no problem.
During the episode of her talk show that aired on Tuesday, Drew Barrymore joked that she can go “years” without having an intimate encounter.
During her appearance on “The Drew Barrymore Show,” the actress posed this question to the audience while discussing the recent news that Andrew Garfield had been celibate for the past six months. “What’s wrong with me that six months doesn’t seem like a very long time?”
“I was like, ‘Yeah, so?’” Barrymore, 47, said of the 39-year-old actor’s admission.
Upon hearing what Ross Mathews had to say, “That’s the headline: ‘Drew can go six months, no big deal,’” the judge from “RuPaul’s Drag Race” was misinformed by the actress from “Scream,” who clarified that she could actually abstain from sexual activity for “years.”
The news was broken by Barrymore exactly one month after Garfield mentioned on Marc Maron’s podcast that in order to prepare for his role as a priest in the 2016 film “Silence,” he “starved” himself of sex and food.
In an interview from August, the actor known for his role in “Amazing Spider-Man” referred to the event as “spiritual,” explaining, “I did a bunch of spiritual practices every day. I created new rituals for myself. … I had some pretty wild, trippy experiences.”
As for Barrymore, the star of “Never Been Kissed,” who has also been known to open up about her sexual experiences over the course of her career,
The Golden Globe winner admitted to Mathews, 42, in February 2021 that she has gotten it on with a partner while they were in a car. She also mentioned that she prefers “soft” or “natural” lighting when getting it on indoors. Mathews was 42 years old at the time.
Over the course of her life, Barrymore has tied the knot with three different men: Jeremy Thomas, Tom Green, and Will Kopelman.
Before they got divorced in 2016, the former “Santa Clarita Diet” cast member welcomed daughters Olive, now 9, and Frankie, now 8, with her then-partner.
The actress from “E.T.” is very cautious when it comes to dating while she is a single mother.
“I don’t want to bring people home,” she told “Queer Eye” star Bobby Berk in a January episode of her CBS show.
“I think that it would take me a very long to meet someone and get to know them before I could even ever introduce them to my daughters,” Barrymore continued, tearing up. “I’ll go on an occasional date.”
