Dwayne Johnson is one of Hollywood’s most successful and loved actors. He owns a lot of businesses, and every year his net worth goes up as well. Within a few years, he was worth $320 million. In 2023, though, he has a net worth of about $800 million and is set to become a billionaire.
It’s interesting that the Jumanji star’s ex-wife, Dany Garcia, is his business partner in many of his ventures. They exchanged vows in 1997, just one year after Johnson’s first match in WWE, at Rocky Maivia. The happy couple had a daughter named Simone Johnson in 2001.
Still, Dwayne Johnson and Dany Garcia told the public in 2007 that they were getting a divorce. Both of them said it was a mutual decision, so neither of them said why they were making such a big change as splitting up.
But in an interview with Piers Morgan on CNN, The Rock explained the reason for the split. Johnson said that neither he nor his ex-wife could live up to the promises of marriage. He said he had made a lot of mistakes, but he also said he had learned from them. In 2008, they got divorced, but they still worked together.
Why did Dwayne Johnson pay just $5000 in the divorce settlement?
Most Hollywood breakups cause trouble, especially when it comes to money or alimony. In the case of Dwayne Johnson and Dany Garcia, though, that didn’t happen.
But, because they had been together for 10 years, they were both very sad at that time. Instead of making any immature decisions, they decided to stay civil during the proceedings. Dany Garcia told her ex-husband that she didn’t need alimony because she makes a good living as a financial advisor and didn’t want any money from him.
Because of this, the couple eventually decided to set up a trust fund for their daughter, Simone Johnson. So they both started putting $5,000 into the trust fund every month.
But Johnson did have to pay $22,454 a month to the child support fund. They still work together as business partners at places like Seven Bucks Productions and Athleticon. They are also co-owners of the XFL, which is a minor football league.
