Dylan O’Brien was born in New York City on August 26, 1991. He was raised by his parents, Lisa and Patrick O’Brien. Lisa, a former actress, also ran an acting school. When he was twelve years old, O’Brien and his family relocated to Hermosa Beach, California after living in Springfield Township, New Jersey.
He comes from a mix of Irish, Italian, English, and Spanish ancestry. After finishing high school at Mira Costa High School in 2009, he thought about a career in sports broadcasting and maybe joining the New York Mets.
