For anyone who grew up in the 80s and the 90s, Eric Bischoff and Paul Heyman were cult figures. The two had a short-lived rivalry in the mid-2000s while managing Raw and SmackDown. Interestingly, both these men are back in the WWE – but the roles are reversed this time! Bischoff has been named the Executive Director of SmackDown while Heyman handles Raw at the same position.

Is the WWE Afraid of AEW’s Threat?
While only Vince McMahon knows the answer to this question, the fact of the matter is – that two of the biggest names have been appointed the creative heads of the two flagship shows of the company. This clearly means that the WWE is looking forward to bring in some changes before AEW can start off with their weekly shows.
While it will be wrong to say that WWE is ‘afraid’ of AEW’s rising threat, the company is taking the right precautions at the right time. The trigger to this could perhaps be the RAW episode of 24th of June, where only 4000 people showed up!
What Changes Will Eric Bischoff Bring In?
Erich Bischoff is expected to bring in some huge changes – primarily doing away with the scripted promos and bringing in storylines that would remind one of the attitude era. With Paul Heyman complimenting him on Monday Night Raw, together the two are expected to finally help the WWE do away with this glum period that has lasted on for quite a while now!
