Caitlyn Jenner’s mother, Esther Jenner, died at 96.
Esther Jenner passed away ‘peacefully’ on Thursday morning, according to her reality star and sports champion daughter.
Caitlyn Jenner, 73, announced the news on Instagram, claiming she was ‘heartbroken’ by her mother’s death.
Sharing a photograph of Jenner on her 95th birthday, she wrote: ‘I am heartbroken to announce my mom passed away yesterday morning, peacefully.
‘Losing a mother is unique in the sense that she is the only person that loved me my entire life. I will miss her tremendously.
‘She was a few weeks shy of 97 and lived a full life. Love you mom.’
Jenner had been on Keeping Up With The Kardashians a few times during Caitlyn’s marriage to Kris, but she later criticized both the show and Kris, claiming she wasn’t a fan of the whole affair.
She was one of the first to speak out about Caitlyn’s transition, telling RadarOnline that she had ‘never been more proud.’
‘I am more proud of [Caitlyn] now than when [she] stood on that podium and put the gold medal around [her] neck.’

She went on to say that Caitlyn ‘deserves all the respect.’
Jenner also co-starred in the reality show I Am Cait, which aired between 2015 and 2016 and chronicled Caitlyn’s transition.
The 96-year-old had two children: Caitlyn and her younger brother Burt, who died in a vehicle accident shortly after her Olympic glory in 1976.
Caitlyn’s two daughters with, Kris, Kendall, and Kylie Jenner, and four more grandchildren: Burt, Cassandra, Brandon, and Brody, whom Caitlyn welcomed from prior marriages, were also close to her.
Jenner was the great-grandmother of Stormi and Aire, as well as nine additional offspring.
