The seventh installment of the Final Fantasy franchise received a huge critical and commercial success. The game is hailed as one of the greatest of all time.
This could be the reason Sony is betting its money on the remake of this game. The success the game had is a good motivator for the console giant to launch the remake.

There is no clear indication about the release date of the game. However, rumors hint that an important announcement related to the game is due in the next few months.
