Food Wars Season 4 is still uncertain. The last episode of the third season of Food Wars was released in June last year, and since then, fans have been waiting eagerly for the next season.
Why there is no fourth season yet
Season 3 of Food Wars anime ended with the events of chapter 217 of the Promotion Exams storyline. Also known as “After the First Bout,” the story is now expected to move on to the immediate next chapter without skipping any plot, as the next chapter is literally called The Second Bout.

However, there have been no updates regarding the season 4 of the anime for several months now. That may be because there are only 86 chapters left to be used for the anime series. At the time of writing this article, chapter 303 of the manga has been released. With such a low number of chapters available, JC staff may not be able to produce a two-cour season of Food Wars, as a typical season consists of at least 24 episodes.
One-cour season may be released
There may still be some good news though. The production house may release a one-cour season in 2019. Since its premiere in 2015, the Food Wars has launched a new installment every year. It is therefore likely that a one-cour season 4 may be on the horizon this year.
The studio did something similar in 2017. The first half of season 3 was released as 12 episodes from October to December, and the second half in 2018 from April to June.
Following this format, we may just see the first few episodes of Food Wars season 4 this year.
