Ford has recalled around 1.5 million Ford and Lincoln vehicles. These vehicles were sold in Canada and the United States. The vehicles are mainly recalled on the pretext of safety issues that are affecting their performance.
All the vehicles that are recalled include Ford F-150 of 2011-13, select 2017-19 Lincoln Continental vehicles and select 2019 Ford Mustang, Lincoln Navigator and Lincoln Nautilus. These vehicles have 6-speed automatic transmission shift issues, issues regarding door latches that might not engage and blank instrument panel cluster assemblies.
Out of the vehicles that have been recalled, 1.3 million are in the US.
2011-13 Ford F-150
These vehicles mainly have issues regarding 6-speed automatic transmission. It often results in temporary and unintended downshift in first gear. This can result in loss of control of the vehicle and ultimately increase the chances of a crash.
This recall will affect around 1.48 million vehicles in North America. Out of these 221,000 vehicles are from Canada and 1.26 million in the U.S.
Select 2017-19 Lincoln Continental vehicles
Intermittently functioning door latch motor due to silicon contamination buildup is the issue faced by these vehicles. This leads to a defect in the doors and the latch May not fully engage because of it.
This can increase the possibility of the door to open anytime, increasing the risk of accidents injury.
Select 2019 Ford Mustang, Lincoln Navigator and Lincoln Nautilus
These vehicles have the issue of instrument panel cluster assemblies that may be blank upon vehicle startup. These vehicles include 4,200 vehicles in the U.S. and 150 in Canada.
